Rhetoric[a] is the art of using language to convince or persuade. Aristotle defines rhetoric as "the faculty of observing in any given case the available means of persuasion" and since mastery of the art was necessary for victory in a case at law or for passage of proposals in the assembly or for fame as a speaker in civic ceremonies, calls it "a combination of the science of logic and of the ethical branch of politics".[5] Rhetoric typically provides heuristics for understanding, discovering, and developing arguments for particular situations, such as Aristotle's three persuasive audience appeals, logospathos, and ethos. The five canons of rhetoric or phases of developing a persuasive speech were first codified in classical Rome: inventionarrangementstylememory, and delivery. From Ancient Greece to the late 19th century, rhetoric, which along with grammar and logic (or dialectic – see Martianus Capella) is one of the three ancient arts of discourse, played a central role in western education in training orators, lawyers, counsellors, historians, statesmen, and poets.

What is Literary Translation?

Whether it is a book on Greek philosophy or a short story by an indie author, a good Literary Translator is what you need when the topic of the text is related to, mainly, the Human Sciences and General Knowledge. Literary Translators have a vast experience in dealing with texts in which the meaning given by the author is sometimes abstract, subtle or obscure. We are trained for that. A good Literary Translator is him / herself a good writer too. The translator knows what the author wants to say because he/she could have expressed it the same way. Behind every Literary Translator there is, usually, a good Writer or Copy-writer. So, now that you know the main functions of a Literary Translator, please feel free to contact me at your convenience so I can give you a free quote:  diego.m.carpio@gmail.com

What is a CAT Tool?

Don't forget to visit my page for more info and quotes www.spanishizer.com / info@spanishizer.com Computer-assisted translation , computer-aided translation  or  CAT  is a form of  language translation  in which a human translator uses  computer hardware  to support and facilitate the translation process. [1] Computer -assisted translation is sometimes called machine-assisted, or machine-aided translation (not to be confused with machine translation). The automatic machine translation systems available today are not able to produce high-quality translations unaided: their output must be edited by a human to correct errors and improve the quality of translation. Computer-assisted translation (CAT) incorporates that manual editing stage into the software, making translation an interactive process between human and computer. [2] Some advanced computer-assisted translation solutions include controlled machine translation (MT). H...
